City management structure

Updated April 16, 2018

By Dom Casey

As of today, I start in my new role as Acting City Manager. While Rob will be working on special projects that the Council wants him to focus on before he retires at the end of June, I am taking on the full duties of the city manager until the Council hires Rob’s successor.

This temporary situation creates a trickle-down effect in our organization, as more staff will be filling in “acting” roles while the Council goes through the city manager hiring process.

To temporarily backfill my job as Assistant City Manager, the current Development Services Director (DSD), Kevin Payne, will be appointed as the City’s Acting ACM. This in turn creates the temporary need to backfill Kevin’s role.

The current Development Services Manager, Mike Isom, will be appointed to the Acting DSD. Both Kevin and Mike are long-term employees and look forward to supporting the organization during this transitional timeframe. Please note that these temporary changes are effective today, Monday April 16, 2018.

The Council intends to make its decision by the end of summer, so in the meantime, we will be temporarily relocating office space. Please bear with us as offices get rearranged this week.

As always please feel free to contact me should you have any questions or comments.
