Fire Division Chief Donates Hair to Locks of Love
On June 8, 2018, Division Chief David Dolson of the Roseville Fire Department will be cutting his hair to donate to Locks of Love. Locks of Love is a national non-profit organization that collaborates with local organizations and businesses to sponsor hair donation drives. These drives provide hair prostheses to children who suffer from medically related hair loss such as from severe burns, cancer, or alopecia.

David has been collaborating and donating his hair with Locks of Love since 2008, and for this go-round he has been growing his hair since May of 2016. So far he has made three donations of at least 10 inches hair donations. The hair prostheses provided to these young patients helps to restore their self-esteem and confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers. Chief Dolson spent 20 years on the line as a firefighter and saw many young children whose lives were impacted by injury and illness. This is one of the many ways that David works to give back to the community that he serves.
