KrebsOnSecurity.com – Security expert blog site of Brian Krebs. Used to write on CyberSecurity for the Washington Post.

www.avtest.org – Shows test results for several of the most popular anti-malware programs. Useful for deciding which one to buy.

www.virustotal.com – test a downloaded file against over 40 anti-virus programs (some are not totally up-to-date) to see if anything evil is detected.

www.schneier.com – Bruce Schneier’s website. Tons of excellent security information here. Bruce is a provocative and interesting guy with definite opinions.

https://www.winpatrol.com/ – Free utility that will watch for programs trying to change your system and let you permit or deny the changes. Note: WinPatrol also makes one of the only Anti-Ransom protection products.
