Watch the Ice House Bridge move

Updated September 14, 2018

Check out the 550-ton crane lifting the historic Rube Nelson Ice House Bridge for refurbishment. This is a critical step before repositioning the bridge as part of the Downtown Bridges and Trails Project.

In the bridge’s final location, it will connect two trail segments across Dry Creek—making the last connection in a continuous 6-mile trail from Sierra College Boulevard to Darling Way.

The Ice House Bridge was originally constructed in 1925 and was used by Roseville Pacific Fruit Exchange employees working at the largest ice house in the world.

Construction is paid for by grants and restricted funding that cannot be used for services like public safety, libraries, or any General Fund activities.
