You better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout, I’m telling you why, Santa Claus is coming to town! That’s right! Although it is only November, we have confirmed that the big guy in the red suit is returning to Roseville in December.
This year, Santa will visit eight neighborhoods in total, between December 3 through 14. Santa’s elves have updated the routes. He will visit two neighborhoods per night on Tuesdays and Thursdays. As in the years past, we are looking for City of Roseville employees to help. They will be Santa’s elves and walk with the float and pass out candy canes to families and doggie treats to Santa’s furry friends.
We are also looking for van drivers to help elves get to the parade locations.
Again this year, the Fire Department will lead the parade with an engine sounding the sirens and flashing lights and Police will announce Santa’s arrival by driving up and down the street, sounding their sirens.
Santa’s schedule is Tuesdays, December 4 & 6 and Thursdays, December 11 & 13. Elves & drivers will report to the start location by 5:45 p.m. and the parade will begin promptly at 6 p.m. Parades times will last approximately two hours each night.
Those interested in signing up to walk the parade route or drive the van sign up here through SharePoint. A Neighborhood Santa refresher training is scheduled for Thursday, November 29, from 11 a.m. to noon at the Civic Center in meeting rooms 1 & 2. We will review the plan, the routes, and answer any important elf questions.
