Throughout October, the Information Technology (IT) team and the HUB held a contest designed to share essential ideas about online safety, better known as cybersecurity. We crafted a series of stories that shared essential ideas, represented by "Golden Keys", that each user should keep in mind each time they interact with the internet.
We asked readers to collect the "Golden Keys" that were placed in each story. After those keys were collected and submitted, the reader was eligible to win our random drawing.
We had a great response to the contest. We’re happy to announce the winners of the HUB’s 2018 Cybersecurity Awareness Contest; each winner receives a $25 Amazon gift card. They are:
- Lisa Saunders (EU)
- Jeff McEntee (PR&L)
Their names were drawn at random in a ‘super-secret balloting system.’ The names of all qualifying entries were printed on paper, cut out separately, and then placed in a coffee cup. A random employee blindly drew two names from the cup, not knowing who or for what they were selecting the names.
We hope that you will embrace the ideas we shared as your travel the internet. Please remember – If you are online, you are under attack. Take every opportunity to protect your data. You can proceed knowing that cyber thieves are exercising every opportunity they can muster to steal your data, your passwords, and your digital assets.
Congratulations to Lisa and Jeff. The IT team will reach out to you with your prize. Thank you, everyone, for participating.
