Appropriately enough, starting Valentine’s Day, the
Roseville Employees Annual Charitable Hearts (
REACH) campaign kicks off its annual fund drive through March 15. Our employees have a wonderful history of helping
our community non-profits.
Since REACH’s inception in 2003, City employees have provided over $1.7 million to our local nonprofits. Every donated penny has gone directly to the recipients of those services. Our goal is simple – provide an easy way for our staff to give to charities in the community we serve.
This year, donations will by payroll deduction only. Employees should keep a copy of their donation forms and double check the amounts in Employee Online in April to ensure the deductions were entered correctly.
We appreciate your understanding since the amount of administrative work to process cash and checks is much higher. Next year, REACH donations will be made through ERP to further streamline the administrative process.

Over the next month, your department’s REACH representative will be sharing information, distributing pledge forms, and answering your questions. Many thanks to this year’s REACH chairs, Suzanne Engelke with Public Works and Lea Estrada with Development Services.
While the REACH campaign has been a well-loved tradition, many of the long-term givers have retired in the past few years, and awareness of the campaign has decreased among newer employees. Last year, REACH collections were just shy of the $100,000 mark with about 330 people participating, down 11 percent from the year before.
“Our community groups greatly value the support they receive from city employees’ voluntary contributions,” said Engelke. “It’s heartwarming to see the difference we make helping these worthy charities carry out their mission.”
In addition to monetary donations, the REACH committee raises money and donates time and resources in other ways throughout the year. These opportunities are designed to be “hands-on” and range from giving blood, playing softball, cleaning a creek, to other volunteer events where you can donate your time. These are department initiated events and will be promoted, in more detail, so look for more information on The HUB.
We thank you, in advance, for your generosity. If you have any questions, please click on the name of the REACH Committee Representative in your department:
