Technology Governance concept papers due Sept 6

Due to the large impact technology has on our City, seven years ago Roseville developed a technology governance process to help manage our investments.

The Technology Governance Committee (TGC) and Governance Process helps to:

  • address issues such as managing resources, balancing new projects with the existing workload
  • decide when to recommend contracting technology services because of staffing constraints
  • ensure that the City Manager and City Council have all of the available, relevant information when committing City funds to technology initiatives.

Any project expected to kick off in FY20/21 must be approved by the TGC, the department heads, and the City Manager's Office. The first step of this process is to contact an IT Analyst to help you draft a concept paper and submit it to [email protected].

These concept papers are due to governance no later than 9/06/2019. You can find concept templates and other key dates on the HUB under IT>Technology Governance.

Once approved, these projects are factored into the rates that IT has projected for the new fiscal year. If submitted late, the project will need to be vetted by the TGC & City Manager in a separate process. Additional costs may apply and/or project timelines may need to be adjusted to accommodate these projects.

Have questions? Feel free to contact us at [email protected].
