Roseville Fire Museum moves one step forward
The establishment of a permanent home for the long-anticipated Roseville Fire Museum (RFM) is one step closer after the Council moved toward leasing a historic property. The City’s original Fire House 1, located at 400 Lincoln Street, will become the home to more than 110 years of Roseville firefighting history.

The building was originally constructed in 1923 as the first fire station in Roseville and operated as such until the mid-1960’s. The property is approximately 3,700 square feet of land and the building is 1,288 square feet.

Fire Museum sketchThe addition of the Roseville Fire Museum is an important historical addition to our downtown. In fact, the fire department’s roots are almost two years older than the City of Roseville.

In 1907, a fire protection committee was quickly formed to address the needs of our newly formed community. This was the birth of the Roseville Fire Department. When the City was incorporated two years later, in 1909, a municipal, volunteer fire department was formed, replacing the existing Citizen’s Volunteer Fire Department.
