You better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout, I’m telling you why, Santa Claus is coming to town! That’s right! Although it is only November, we have confirmed that the big guy in the red suit is coming back to Roseville in December.
This year, Santa will visit eight neighborhoods total, the weeks of
December 10-19. Santa’s elves have updated the routes and he will visit two neighborhoods per night on Tuesdays and Thursdays. As in years past, we are looking for City of Roseville employees to be Santa’s elves and walk with the float and pass out candy canes to families and doggie treats to Santa’s furry friends.
Those interested in signing up to walk the parade route or drive the van sign up
here through SharePoint. A Neighborhood Santa refresher training is scheduled for
11:00 a.m. to - Noon, on Thursday, December 5, at the
Civic Center in meeting rooms 1 & 2. We will review the plan, the routes and answer any important elf questions.
For more information on the Neighborhood Santa program, contact
Jon McElroy or call him at (916) 774-5952.
We are also looking for van drivers to help elves get to the parade locations. Again this year, the Fire Department will lead the parade with an engine sounding the sirens and flashing lights and Police will announce Santa’s arrival by driving up and down the street, sounding their sirens.
Santa’s schedule is Tuesdays, December 10 & 17 and Thursdays, December 12 & 19. Elves & drivers will report to the start location by 5:45pm and parade will begin promptly at 6pm. Parades times will last approximately two hours each night.
