Be prepared for winter
Today is the first day of winter, the shortest day of the year. Reduced sunshine equates to lower temperatures. It’s important to consider the shifting weather patterns in both our personal and work lives.

Now is the time to get ready. Remember to prepare two key items before you leave your home or office – your vehicle and yourself.

Yourself
:

- Dress in layers to stay warm.
- Wet clothing greatly increases heat loss through conduction and evaporation.
- Stay hydrated in cold weather.

Your vehicle:

- Does your vehicle have a winter Survival Kit? Keep an extra coat or blanket in your vehicle.
- What is traction control? Why is it important?

Spend a few minutes to prepare for an emergency situation. Hopefully, your efforts will never be tested.

Please have a safe and happy holiday season.
