City holds successful emergency operations drill
On May 17, the City held an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Exercise, designed to evaluate and test our staff's operational readiness and response to a simulated emergency scenario. After the active portion of the drill, everyone gathered to review the functionality and effectiveness of the City's emergency response mechanism.

EOC drills happen biannually with each drill focusing on a different emergency scenario. This latest exercise presented a hypothetical explosion on the train tracks, with an emphasis on the ability of EOC staff to coordinate a mass evacuation of a portion of the City.

When activated, the EOC can be comprised of representatives from every department within the City. These operations can include representatives from outside agencies such as Placer County or The California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES).

Here are several images from that exercise.
